Biological Activity

GPX4-IN-5 is a covalent inhibitor targeting glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4). Inhibition of GPX4 disrupts intracellular antioxidant defenses and leads to lethal accumulation of lipid peroxides, thereby inducing ferroptotic cell death and suppressing tumor cell proliferation. Consequently, this small molecule serves as an effective research tool for investigating ferroptosis pathways and potential anti-tumor strategies in triple-negative breast cancer. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
