Biological Activity

GC7 Sulfate is a potent inhibitor of deoxyhypusine synthase (DHPS). By suppressing DHPS activity, GC7 blocks eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A activation to impair cell proliferation. In neuroblastoma cells, GC7 inhibits proliferation in a dose-dependent manner through the induction of the cell cycle inhibitor p21 and a reduction of total and phosphorylated retinoblastoma protein levels, ultimately driving cell cycle arrest. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
