FPS-ZM1 is a blood-brain barrier-permeant, tertiary amide compound that acts as a high-affinity inhibitor of RAGE by blocking amyloid-β binding to its V domain. By inhibiting RAGE-mediated pathways, FPS-ZM1 suppresses neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and neurotoxicity caused by amyloid-β accumulation. In preclinical models, RAGE inhibition via FPS-ZM1 attenuates cerebrovascular dysfunction and reduces cognitive decline, offering a targeted approach to study neurodegenerative mechanisms. [1]
