Biological Activity

FK-3311 is a cell-permeable, orally available inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) with potent anti-inflammatory activity. By selectively targeting COX-2, it suppresses prostaglandin synthesis and attenuates downstream inflammatory signaling pathways. Consequently, FK-3311 exerts protective effects against hepatic warm ischemia-reperfusion injury through the marked inhibition of thromboxane A2 production, thereby preserving tissue perfusion and reducing inflammation. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
