Ethynodiol diacetate is a synthetic progestogen that acts as a progesterone receptor agonist. Upon binding to progesterone receptors, it activates intracellular signaling cascades to modulate transcription of target genes involved in reproductive tissue function and neuroendocrine regulation. Through activation of progesterone receptor pathways, it inhibits luteinizing hormone secretion and alters endometrial receptivity, influencing cellular proliferation and differentiation within target tissues.
