Biological Activity
CVT-313 is a potent, ATP-competitive inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) with an IC50 of 0.5 µM. By selectively inhibiting CDK2 activity, CVT-313 blocks cell cycle progression at the G1/S phase transition and suppresses hyperphosphorylation of retinoblastoma protein. Consequently, it significantly inhibits vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and suppresses neointimal hyperplasia without affecting nonrelated serine/threonine kinases. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
