Ciclopirox ethanolamine is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that acts as an iron chelator. By binding intracellular trivalent ferric ions, it inhibits essential iron-dependent enzymes involved in mitochondrial electron transport, cell respiration, and energy production. This chelation disrupts macromolecular biosynthesis, suppressing DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis while compromising cell membrane integrity and intracellular ion balance in pathogenic fungi and yeasts.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
