CHIR-98014 is a potent glycogen synthase kinase-3 inhibitor targeting human GSK-3α and GSK-3β. It acts as an ATP-competitive inhibitor with high selectivity over other protein kinases such as CDC2. By suppressing GSK-3 within the insulin signaling pathway, CHIR-98014 stimulates glycogen synthase activity and enhances glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle and hepatocytes. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
