Biological Activity

CeMMEC1 is an N-methylisoquinolinone derivative acting as an inhibitor of the second bromodomain of TBP-associated factor 1 (TAF1). By targeting the TAF1 bromodomain, CeMMEC1 modulates the function of the transcription factor II D (TFIID) complex, disrupting acetylated histone recognition and downstream RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription pathways. This selectively affects chromatin binding dynamics and transcriptomic phenotypes in target cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
