Ceftriaxone disodium salt hemi (heptahydrate) is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that targets penicillin-binding proteins to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis. By binding to essential penicillin-binding proteins, ceftriaxone prevents peptidoglycan cross-linking, leading to bacterial cell wall degradation and cell lysis. Additionally, ceftriaxone upregulates glutamate transporter 1 expression, enhancing glutamate clearance and exerting neuroprotective activity in central nervous system disease models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
