Biological Activity

CBL0137 Hydrochloride is a small-molecule activator of p53 and inhibitor of NF-κB that targets the histone chaperone FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription) complex. By binding to FACT, it traps the complex on chromatin, causing depletion of soluble FACT and suppressing NF-κB signaling while inducing p53 activation. This dual action leads to inhibition of tumor cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis across various cancer models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
