Captopril is a potent angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that targets the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). By blocking ACE activity, captopril prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II, leading to reduced aldosterone secretion and enhanced vasodilation. Furthermore, captopril suppresses vascular oxidative stress, attenuates cardiac hypertrophy, and preserves endothelial function in preclinical cardiovascular models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
