Camostat Mesilate is a trypsin-like protease inhibitor that targets membrane-anchored serine proteases and inhibits airway epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) function (IC50 = 50 nM). By suppressing proteolytic cleavage and activation of ENaC, it reduces sodium ion transport across the airway epithelium. In addition, it inhibits related serine proteases such as trypsin, prostasin, and matriptase, thereby regulating pericellular proteolysis and mucociliary clearance mechanisms in epithelial tissues.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
