Biological Activity

CA3 (CIL56) is a potent inhibitor of YAP1/TEAD transcriptional activity that primarily targets therapy-resistant esophageal adenocarcinoma cells displaying high YAP1 levels and cancer stem cell properties. Mechanistically, CA3 suppresses Hippo/YAP1 pathway downstream signaling to inhibit cellular proliferation, survival, and stemness. Furthermore, CA3 treatment triggers ferroptotic cell death accompanied by the generation of iron-dependent reactive oxygen species in target cancer cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
