Omilancor (BT-11) is an orally active lanthionine synthetase C-like 2 (LANCL2) binding compound and agonist with a Kd value of 7.7 µM for LANCL2. Engagement of the LANCL2 pathway suppresses NF-kB pathway activation and decreases expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-α and IL-6. Downstream, LANCL2 activation attenuates gut inflammation, promoting mucosal healing and resolving colonic tissue damage in inflammatory bowel disease models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
