BRL-50481 is a selective phosphodiesterase 7 (PDE7) inhibitor with a Ki of 180 nM for hrPDE7A1, exhibiting at least 200-fold selectivity over other PDE isoforms. By inhibiting PDE7, BRL-50481 elevates intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine production and modulating immune cell function. These activities contribute to reduced cellular activation and anti-inflammatory phenotypes in preclinical models of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
