Ordering Information

Biological Activity

bpV (HOpic) is a potent, cell-permeable inhibitor of PTEN, exhibiting approximately 350-fold and 1800-fold higher IC50 values for PTP-β and PTP-1B, respectively. By inhibiting PTEN phosphatase activity, it increases intracellular phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate levels and promotes activation of the downstream PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, thereby influencing cellular survival and growth processes. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
