BMS-309403 is a potent small-molecule inhibitor of fatty acid-binding protein 4 (FABP4) (Kd 4 nM) with >100-fold selectivity over FABP3 and FABP5. By competing with fatty acids for the binding pocket of FABP4, BMS-309403 impairs intracellular lipid trafficking and suppresses downstream inflammatory signaling pathways, including JNK and NF-kB. Consequently, it attenuates macrophage foam cell formation, reduces proinflammatory cytokine production, and improves insulin sensitivity in preclinical models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
