Biological Activity

BMS-986020 is a potent and selective antagonist of lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 (LPA1). Inhibition of LPA1 disrupts downstream signaling pathways that drive fibroblast recruitment, vascular leak, and extracellular matrix accumulation following tissue injury. By suppressing these pro-fibrotic cellular responses, LPA1 antagonism attenuates lung injury and disease progression, highlighting its therapeutic potential in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
