Bindarit is a selective inhibitor of monocyte chemotactic proteins, including MCP-1/CCL2, MCP-3/CCL7, and MCP-2/CCL8. It suppresses the synthesis and release of CC chemokines without directly inhibiting cyclooxygenase or lipoxygenase enzymes. By selectively downregulating chemokine expression, bindarit reduces monocyte recruitment and attenuates chronic inflammatory responses. Consequently, it retards renal disease progression and prolongs survival in autoimmune models, such as lupus-prone mice. [1]
