BGP-15 2HCl is a nicotinic amidoxime derivative that acts as a poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor and chaperone co-inducer. By modulating PARP activity and upregulating heat shock protein signaling, it attenuates oxidative stress, preserves mitochondrial integrity, and reduces cell death during cellular stress. Downstream, these pathway alterations contribute to cell survival and protect tissues against ischemia-reperfusion injury in preclinical models. [1][2]
