Bay 59-3074 is a selective cannabinoid receptor partial agonist that binds to rat CB1 (Ki = 55.4 nM), human CB1 (Ki = 48.3 nM), and human CB2 receptors (Ki = 45.5 nM). Activation of CB1 and CB2 receptors modulates cannabinoid signaling, resulting in concentration-dependent stimulation of G-protein coupling. In preclinical models, Bay 59-3074 suppresses mechanical hyperalgesia and exhibits potent antinociceptive and analgesic properties.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
