Bay 11-7085 is an irreversible inhibitor of TNFα-induced IκBα phosphorylation (IC50 = 10 μM). By blocking IκBα phosphorylation, it prevents nuclear translocation and activation of the NF-kB transcription factor pathway. This inhibition leads to reduced expression of downstream inflammatory targets, including endothelial adhesion molecules, and suppresses cell proliferation while promoting apoptosis, making it a useful tool for studying NF-kB signaling mechanisms.
