Auristatin E is a synthetic antimitotic pentapeptide and structural analog of dolastatin 10 that acts as a potent inhibitor of microtubule polymerization. By disrupting microtubule network assembly, it induces mitotic cell cycle arrest at the G2/M transition and activates apoptotic pathways in cancer cells. Owing to its potent cytotoxicity, it serves as a powerful payload component in antibody-drug conjugate development for selective tumor targeting. [1]
