Biological Activity

AST5902 trimesylate is the principal active metabolite of alflutinib and functions as an irreversible epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor. By targeting EGFR signaling pathways, it suppresses downstream kinase cascades involved in cell proliferation and survival, exhibiting potent antineoplastic activity against EGFR-driven tumor models. Furthermore, AST5902 displays weak CYP3A4 induction potential compared to its parent compound, maintaining high target selectivity and cellular efficacy. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
