Biological Activity

Anle138b is an orally bioavailable oligomer modulator and aggregation inhibitor that targets pathological aggregates of prion protein (PrPSc) and α-synuclein. By binding to structure-dependent epitopes of oligomers, Anle138b inhibits the formation and propagation of toxic protein aggregates without disrupting physiological monomeric functions. This inhibition blocks disease progression and rescues neuronal dysfunction in models of neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's disease and prion diseases. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
