A286982 is a nonpeptide inhibitor of the leukocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) interaction, displaying an IC50 ofin an LFA-1/ICAM-1 binding assay and an IC50 ofin an LFA-1-mediated cellular adhesion assay. By blocking LFA-1 binding to ICAM-1, A286982 disrupts integrin-mediated cellular adhesion and leukocyte recruitment, thereby impairing immune cell activation and downstream inflammatory signaling responses.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
