A-1210477 is a potent and selective MCL-1 inhibitor, demonstrating >100-fold selectivity over other BCL-2 family members. By targeting MCL-1, it disrupts the interaction between MCL-1 and BIM, preventing anti-apoptotic signaling. This disruption triggers intrinsic apoptotic cascades, leading to cytochrome c release, caspase-3 activation, PARP cleavage, and selective cell death in MCL-1-dependent cancer cell lines. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
