Biological Activity

ZLN005 is a potent and tissue-specific transcriptional activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α). It selectively upregulates PGC-1α gene expression, which promotes downstream mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty acid oxidation, and oxidative phosphorylation. In skeletal muscle and hepatic models, ZLN005 enhances cellular energy metabolism, suppresses gluconeogenesis, and improves glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
