Ranolazine dihydrochloride is an antianginal agent that acts as a selective inhibitor of the late sodium current ($I_{Na}$). By inhibiting late sodium influx in cardiac myocytes, ranolazine prevents intracellular sodium accumulation and suppresses secondary calcium overload via the sodium-calcium exchanger during ischemia. This reduction in calcium overload restores ionic homeostasis, decreases diastolic tension, and protects against ischemia-induced myocardial dysfunction. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
