Mitoxantrone Dihydrochloride (NSC 301739) is a synthetic anthracenedione antineoplastic agent that acts as a potent inhibitor of type II topoisomerase and intercalates into DNA. By intercalating into deoxyribonucleic acid and interfering with topoisomerase II activity, it disrupts DNA re-ligation, leading to double-strand DNA breaks and inhibition of RNA synthesis. These downstream DNA damage responses disrupt cellular proliferation and trigger apoptotic pathways in cancer cells. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
