LY2886721 is a potent beta-secretase 1 (BACE1) inhibitor developed for Alzheimer's disease research. By targeting BACE1, LY2886721 inhibits the rate-limiting enzymatic cleavage of amyloid precursor protein, thereby blocking the downstream generation and release of toxic amyloid-beta peptides, including Aβ40 and Aβ42. Consequently, suppression of amyloid-beta accumulation mitigates neurotoxic plaque formation and reduces amyloid-associated pathological phenotypes in preclinical models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
