Gemfibrozil is a lipid-lowering agent that functions as an activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPARα). Ligand binding to PPARα drives transcriptional regulation of genes controlling lipid and glucose metabolism, adipose tissue differentiation, and inflammation. Increased expression of lipoprotein lipase enhances the clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, suppressing fatty acid synthesis and altering cellular lipid transport dynamics. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
