Enalapril maleate is an orally active angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It competitively blocks the enzymatic conversion of angiotensin I to the active vasoconstrictor angiotensin II, thereby reducing systemic vasopressor activity and aldosterone secretion. Additionally, inhibition of ACE—also known as kininase II—prevents the degradation of the vasodilator bradykinin, promoting downstream vascular relaxation and hemodynamic modulation. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
