Clomifene citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator that acts as an antagonist of the estrogen receptor in the central nervous system. By blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, it inhibits estrogen-mediated negative feedback. This blockade stimulates the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which enhances secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone to promote ovarian follicular development and induce ovulation.[1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
