Biological Activity

Iniparib (BSI-201) is a potent PARP1 inhibitor that exerts anti-neoplastic activity across a broad range of cancer cell types. The compound covalently binds and inhibits PARP1, disrupting poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-mediated signaling and DNA repair pathways. This target inhibition impairs cellular recovery from DNA damage, ultimately leading to compromised genomic stability, reduced cell viability, and the suppression of tumor cell proliferation in multiple solid tumor models.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
