Biological Activity

BMS-707035 is a potent HIV-1 integrase inhibitor that targets the catalytic activity of HIV-1 integrase to block retroviral DNA integration into the host genome. By inhibiting integrase-mediated strand transfer, it prevents the insertion of viral cDNA, blocking retroviral replication and viral propagation in host cells. This inhibition impairs downstream viral gene expression and assembly of new infectious virions. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
