Dabigatran etexilate (BIBR-1048) is an orally bioavailable prodrug of dabigatran, a potent, competitive, and reversible direct thrombin inhibitor. Dabigatran specifically and reversibly inhibits both free and clot-bound thrombin, preventing the cleavage of fibrinogen into fibrin and blocking thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. By targeting thrombin within the coagulation cascade, it suppresses thrombus formation and attenuates downstream procoagulant signaling pathways. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
