Asenapine maleate is a multi-target receptor antagonist targeting serotonin 5-HT2C (pKi 10.5), 5-HT2A (pKi 10.2), dopamine D2 (pKi 8.9), and histamine H1 (pKi 9.0) receptors. By potently blocking these monoamine G-protein coupled receptors, it modulates intracellular cAMP accumulation and downstream monoaminergic cell signaling pathways. These antagonist actions suppress dopaminergic and serotonergic hyperfunction, inhibiting receptor-mediated signaling cascades in neuronal cells.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
