Artesunate is a semi-synthetic artemisinin derivative and potent antimalarial agent that functions as an EXP1 inhibitor and STAT3 pathway modulator. It induces reactive oxygen species production, suppresses STAT3 signaling, and inhibits cancer cell proliferation, displaying selective cytotoxicity against small cell lung carcinoma H69 cells with an IC50 below. Furthermore, artesunate demonstrates antiparasitic efficacy and targeted toxicity toward malignant over normal cells. [1][2]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
