Biological Activity

6-Gingerol is a naturally occurring phenolic compound that exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antitumor activities. It modulates key signaling pathways, including NF-kB and MAPK cascades, leading to the downregulation of pro-inflammatory mediators such as COX-2 and iNOS. Additionally, 6-Gingerol inhibits cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in various cancer models. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
