4',5,7-Trimethoxyflavone is a natural flavonoid isolated from Kaempferia parviflora that acts as an inducer of apoptosis. Treatment with 4',5,7-trimethoxyflavone increases the sub-G1 cell population, promotes DNA fragmentation, and elevates the Bax to Bcl-xL ratio. These events lead to downstream activation of caspase-3 and cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase, ultimately driving apoptotic cell death in cancer cell models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
