Biological Activity

1-Naphthyl PP1 (1-NA-PP1) is a potent pan-PKD inhibitor targeting PKD1, P, and P, while also inhibiting Src family kinases such as v-Src and c-Fyn, as well as c-Abl. By blocking kinase activity, 1-NA-PP1 disrupts downstream phosphorylation events and signal transduction pathways controlling cell proliferation, cytoskeletal remodeling, and survival phenotypes. It is also widely used as a selective inhibitor for engineered analog-sensitive kinase mutants. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
