Biological Activity
YM 90709 is a novel interleukin-5 (IL-5) inhibitor that selectively blocks the binding of IL-5 to the IL-5 receptor (IL-5R). By preventing receptor activation, YM 90709 disrupts IL-5-mediated intracellular signaling pathways and inhibits downstream biological functions, such as eosinophil survival and activation. Consequently, it attenuates IL-5-driven inflammatory responses and suppresses eosinophil viability in cellular and tissue research models.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
