YM-58483 (BTP2) is a potent blocker of store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) that inhibits calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels. By suppressing intracellular Ca2+ influx, YM-58483 blocks nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) activation and downregulates cytokine expression, including interleukin-2 (IL-2), in T lymphocytes. Consequently, this compound suppresses T lymphocyte activation and reduces inflammatory responses in immune cell models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
