YL 0919 is a dual-acting serotonergic agent functioning as a 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A (5-HT1A) agonist and a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. By elevating extracellular serotonin levels and selectively stimulating 5-HT1A receptors, it modulates central serotonergic signaling pathways. This dual mechanism enhances neuroplasticity and produces marked antidepressant- and anxiolytic-like phenotypes in rodent behavioral models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
