YK-4-279 is a small-molecule inhibitor that targets the interaction between the oncogenic fusion protein EWS-FLI1 and RNA helicase A (RHA). By disrupting EWS-FLI1 binding to RHA, YK-4-279 inhibits downstream EWS-FLI1-mediated transcriptional activity, arrests cell cycle progression, induces apoptosis, and suppresses cell proliferation in Ewing sarcoma cells. Furthermore, YK-4-279 demonstrates potent antitumor activity by inhibiting tumor growth in Ewing sarcoma xenograft animal models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
