Biological Activity

YK-3-237 is a small-molecule activator of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). By activating SIRT1-mediated deacetylation, YK-3-237 promotes the depletion of mutant p53 protein levels and upregulates downstream pro-apoptotic target genes such as PUMA and NOXA. Consequently, this pathway modulation triggers PARP-dependent apoptosis, induces cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, and suppresses the proliferation of triple-negative breast cancer cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
