Biological Activity

WM-8014 is a potent inhibitor of histone acetyltransferase KAT6A (IC50 of 8 nM) and KAT6B (IC50 of. By blunting KAT6A/B-mediated histone acetylation, WM-8014 induces cell cycle arrest and triggers cellular senescence without causing DNA damage. This targeted inhibition effectively halts cancer cell proliferation and suppresses tumor growth in preclinical models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
