Win 18446 is a bisdichloroacetyldiamine that acts as an inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A2 (ALDH1A2) with an IC50 of 0.3 μM. By suppressing testicular ALDH1A2 activity, it blocks the biosynthesis of retinoic acid within the testis. This pathway inhibition leads to the reversible suppression of spermatogenesis and disruption of retinoid-dependent germ cell maturation.
